The correct interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita

The correct interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita

[Last update: 16th August 2017]

Part 1 (12th August 2016)

I have read or studied the Bhagavad Gita several times not only in the German language but also in Tamil and also by various “authors / translators”. The Tamil version if translated directly from Sanskrit has more originality of the content compared to the original as it might not be possible in another language. If you have already translated texts into another language you will rather understand what I am talking about. The next to last sentence should not imply that I am powerful of Sanskrit but many terms are also part of the Tamil language. When I read the German version for example, I notice that this does not reflect the original content. There is also a temporal distance to the original. Unfortunately no one has ever succeeded in translating the Gita into our current time at the least not one of the translation / explanation / interpretation which I have already read or studied. We start with the issue of the caste system so that at last this is corrected. The caste system is nothing more than that it has classified the people in various fields of expertise. Please note that the focus is on the word expertise! It has always been usual in the Western and Eastern world as it was until recently or perhaps still partly exists that the knowledge of a family trade has always been transmitted from one generation to the next. God will never divide people into different classes so one can infer that some are less or more worth than the others. In this regard he will never differ culture, sex or other classifying features. He also does not differ between the different life-forms. Before I write more about the Gita or anything else I would like to set the record straight. As I already wrote in one of my posts, it is important that one is clear about concepts (definition of words).

Part 2 (14th August 2017)

Krishna as a charioteer for Arjunan in the battle at Kurukshetra. What other message does this action also have? The personification of God standing on the side of the good and at the same time symbolizes his action, the absolute truth about the action of God. He is the only guider in the entire universe and beyond. Here one should ask, what would happen with the chariot, if there are two or more charioteers. Then all the other questions about different Gods, especially in the Hinduism, where there are different4 Gods who have descended to earth, are superfluous. Perhaps one should understand which meanings these terms Kadavul (கடவுள்1), Iraivan (இறைவன்1), Pursuhan (புருஷன்1) etc. also have, then one will find out, that this is not to be confused with the highest (Lord), but nevertheless they still belongs to. This is not a contradiction. Here also the term Atma2 (ஆன்மா) helps to understand it better.

Regardless of the above reconnaissance, everyone in the Kali-Yuga should be aware that the wonderful personalities like Karnan or Bheesmha had to leave their lives in the battle for Kurukshetra just because they were on the side of evil3. They will all be back in the Kali-Yuga, but those who are exiled in the Kali-Yuga will not experience rebirths, only the infinite suffering for the infinity. This is an important message!

Part 3 (16th August 2017, Divine intervention and fate)

In our B2B-era, the understanding of fate has fallen into forgetfulness. Most of the people thinks first on actions of some caused by mechanization rather than the divine intervention. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a good explanation even in the Hindu scriptures5, so I will explain this in detail.

Unfortunately, many still misunderstand it, even many authors who has dealt with Hinduism have not understood this correctly. Fate is not equated with the term determinism. There is also a passage (see point 2) in the Gita that indirectly has to do with fate, which also needs an explanation.

Fate is explained by Hinduism as follows: Fate is caused by one own’s actions (karma). Karma are all acts from one’s earlier births up to the current hour. This, in turn, means that it opens or closes the paths for future events. In other words, there are certain degrees of freedom. One can look at the technical definition of the word degrees of freedom, and then apply it to fate, then one will find that fate should be not confused with determinism. Determinism forces an intelligent being, like the human beings, to have no free will, but this is not the case. Of course, people are manipulated in our new B2B-era by mechanization so that it has only the appearance of a free will – but this is a separate topic.

The devilish intervention in the free will, will not be relevant for the filtering in the Kali-Yuga, similar to the legal law. Whether someone pushes (kills) someone into death just because someone is mentally ill, is necessary for the weighting of the punishment through the legal law, but one will nevertheless have to pay for that actions. Likewise, the filtering in the Kali-Yuga will be. The weighting takes place only in the hell. The deep-frying before is only a pre-taste and for posterity.

Point 2: In the Gita, Krishna tells that he (personification of God) is the driving force in everything and everyone. Now many ask one selves when he is the driving force, how can the devil exist? This is not a contradiction, it is a confirmation of the existing degrees of freedom and its resulting free will. Even in the devilish, God will be the driving force in which he partly sets signs in the free actions of the devils and their helpers, without this being neither conscious nor beneficial for them. No, the opposite is the case. The end for the devils and their helpers is sealed. Any action or the non-action makes it only worse and speeds up the reaching of the end.

Another interesting thing from Hinduism. In the early time, there were some ascetics, who could go through walls6. Now one or the other will start to laugh. No, there is no reason for that. Anyone who has dealt with physics7 and probability theory knows that this possibility physically exists in the probability space – but this in turn is a separate topic. One must understand what atoms and their further segmentations are in the microscopic world of quantum, then one will soon find out that even a solid matter is not really solid 😉.

Footnote

1 Unfortunately, the definition in the wiktionary is not complete. I have not found an online dictionary (அகராதி) yet, where it is complete.

2 The section “early Buddhism” in the article about Atma does not correspond to the real historical course. Many interpretations were adapted over the time by people, partly as it was right to them (mostly in a egocentric view). This was the case in all religions, because religions in those times had particularly the function to serve the cohesion of a society, just like a constitution of a constitutional democracy has now assumed the role in the time of modernity.

3 Don’t confuse this context, with the contexts in my other articles.

4 In Hinduism, the Trinity (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva) seem to be divided at first sight in their function. Shiva and Vishnu are identical. This is also the case in the Vedas. The different names (and their functions) are used as synonyms, and the naming of HariHara illustrates this best. Brahma was the first being, symbolized by the umbilical cord. Brahma was sprouted from the umbilical cordus Vishnu’s (≡ Shiva’s). It should be clear to everyone that one first must create the administration (Brahma, Devar, etc.) before one create the rest, up to the simple people. Murugan is identical to Shiva, as is with Vinayaghar. Lastly, Shakthi (or Parvathy), the better half of Shivas. Shakthi is part of Shivas, so there is only one source, namely Shiva (≡ Vishnu).

5 With scriptures I do not mean directly the scriptures like the Gita or the Vedas, only the interpretations and commentaries that such a work needs, so that it can be understood by everyone.

6 The secret services of the United States of America knew all this, see also:

7 At the age of 12/13 years, I originally wanted to study physics to become an astronaut. This was the motivation why I had already dealt with physics and astrophysics in the early years.

Shiva’s Rudra Thandavam (சிவனின் உருத்திர தாண்டவம்)

What happens all over the world is called Shiva's Rudra Thandavam. Thandavam means dancing, but not a normal dance, it is an angry destructive dance. If the dance had lasted longer with the same intensity, everything would have been destroyed. His third eye would have opened and the whole universe were swallowed up. The time for the union of Parvathy and Shiva has come now - only in this way can the Rudra Thandavam end.

The transcendent of the number three

The transcendent of the number three

[Last Update: 04.01.2017]

Three stages or three states of the divine are described in Hinduism in the following way:

அரூபம் (Transliteration: Aruhpam)

Arupam is the transcendental “form” of the divine. Actually the word/term “form” is contradictory to that what is being described here.

Another way to describe: Arupam describes a state of formless existence of the divine. Here the word “existence” is disturbing. It describes a state in our physical world but this form is apart from our world.

  • dimensionless, formless = no space
similar to the state before Big Bang
  • timeless = time does not exist [?]
[→ similar to the state before Big Bang]

→ apart from space and time:
It should be clear to everyone that time, matter, space etc. arose with the Big Bang.

[Sanskrit]:
Yato vaco nivartante
aprapya manasa saha

Translation:
This is the state where the power of the natural language is insufficient to describe it and our mind is not able to conceive it.

Source: Yajur Vedha & Taittiriya-Upanishads: 4.1.1 + 4.1.2

அருவுருவம் (Transliteration: Aruvuruvam)

This is a form more precisely a state which is neither Aruhpam (formless) nor Uruvam (form-bound). This is a transitional form.

[Sanskrit]:
Na asat aseet
na sat aseet tandanim

Rough translation:
It is neither existent nor non-existent.

Source: Rig Vedha

உருவம் (Transliteration: Uruvam)

Uruvam describes the state when God takes a form to show mankind the way. This is called Avatara (அவதார) or incarnation. The word Avatar, which exists in our modern time/world, is a variation/modification of the word Avatara.

Summary

One can refer the three stages of the divine also to the universe. These stages are also consistent with the Big Bang theory.

Mathematics, only a language (Part 1)

Mathematics, only a language? (Part 1)

[Last update: 22nd July 2017]

There are mathematicians who would not want to see and accept mathematics as a language or a formal language. The reduction of mathematics to a formal language is important to understand the math behind the mathematics and perhaps to be able to internalize the underlying philosophy – especially for non-mathematicians.

Regardless of the point of view, mathematics is mostly used as a tool / instrument in natural sciences and other disciplines.

Sometimes the reality of mathematics is often deformed* by persons or group of interests, mostly with statistics and its related statements. This is not a fault of mathematics or intended by mathematics, it’s only the cognition or the suggestion intended by the initiator.

Back to our assumption: Mathematics is just a formal language! To understand this, one should internalize what is a formal language. A formal language is a construct over a given alphabet and production rules. One can also regard the rules of production as axioms or grammars. Attention, I’m using the terms here as synonyms, although they are well-defined and circumscribable – but as synonyms it’ll help you to understand it better!

Now back to mathematics. Mathematics also has well-defined signs and axioms. Based on this, the whole mathematics is built up. The axioms are non-contradictory. If they should contradict each other, then the whole mathematics would collapse like a house of cards.

Appeal to the linguistic genes who feel that they can’t do anything with mathematics. It is also just a language 😊.

Footnote

* This is not only the case in mathematics, it is also in many other disciplines too – from simple test reports to scientific reports. Here is a case that has lasted for almost a century:

This can have happened accidentally, but it has been swept under the carpet, so that one does not sit on the overproduction. Another example is the works of Shakespeare. What if the works are not from Shakespeare, everyone can make his or her own picture. There was even a good show. I think it was on ZDF (Das Shakespeare-Rätsel, Terra X, DE), but I’m not sure about it at this juncture. Please note: Just because I recommend a tv program or show, one should not conclude that all parts of this program must always fulfill the consensus of the truth. I have noticed in the last ten years that some TV shows or channels (no matter which channel or show), after I have classified it as good, are no longer good or only partial good. Coincidence? My criticism or statement here does not refer to the TV show: TerraX or the channel ZDF. Please do not misinterpret it, but – for current cause – this applies generally to all my links. All channels of the Germany’s public broadcasting are recommendable, regardless of whose hands they were or are still now (partially).

I have completely switched to the Germany‘s public broadcasting channels as I was a teenager. The quality of the content is unbeatable in those channels. The few channels, which I possibly look besides the public broadcasting channels, are sometimes the news channels.

Some of the elder generations still knows the difference of the first-row channels and the second-row channels, as well as day and week newspapers like FAZ or ZEIT, magazines like Spiegel or the Stern, at least the parent houses of my German friends knew that, how these channels, newspapers and magazines mentioned here were politically oriented – of course, it was not talked officially about that. The interests were associated with political parties. Maybe you can understand it better today that the association with political parties will not bring the absolute truth into the daylight. This dualism can also be found in foreign news channels, magazines, etc.

Because I overstrain the freedom granted by the definition for the footnote, I will proceed the continuation in the future under a separate heading.

Another example from everyday life. I’m buying already over several years a special cheese for my pizza and other dishes. I could see that the cheese was not as good as before. After optical examination, I could conclude that the color was lighter – this can only be attributed to the fact that the ripening process has not been properly observed. Whether they leave a product ripening for four weeks or ripening for only two weeks is reflected in the profits of the company. This is one of the way to increase the prices without the customer noticing this. To hell with them. There are some cheeses which are defined in the cheese regulation (Käseverordnung). The German Lebensmittelbuch (Food Book & Labelling) has a similar function, which is not necessarily legally binding.

It is important to know that many competing theories exist in science, which may even contradict one another. An example from the astrophysics of the beginnings of the last century is that one has thought that the universe is static. It has been proven that the universe is not static. It is expanding constantly and the universe has an end, in the sense of existing. The entire science, of course, build on each other. If a theory has been disproved, it has consequences for the whole theories which have been built from it.

If certain theories and things are the result of conscious or unconscious actions, that is not the subject here. My primary goal is to enlighten, not only the science.

The most important message at all – God given sign in the science of nature and other disciplines (cover or overlap the sign, so that people thing that the signs are coincidence or unnatural):

What is coexistence

What is coexistence?

[Last Update: 08.01.2017]

It is important to know that there are processes, realities, truths, etc that can exist at the same time, which may perhaps disagree at the first sight. One speaks of coexistence if these conditions exists and can exist parallel! An example is the thought experiment “Schrödinger’s cat” from quantum mechanics. This is about the fact that the cat lives and can be dead at the same time in the quantum state. Another example is God and science. Is the existence of both possible? Is science part of god? Hinduism affirms this. He is everywhere, in everybody and everything! Everything is part of Him!

A famous quote by Prahlada brings this to the point:தூணிலும் இருப்பார் எந்தத் துரும்பிலும் இருப்பார் → He is in pillars, and he is in the smallest twig.

My translation: He is in pillars, and he is also in the smallest needle head (or atom).

It is also important for the learning process not to get everything chewed up!
