Astronomy and ethnicity in Hinduism
In Hindu texts one finds evidence of habitable planets. The planets of Devas, called Indra-Loka or Deva-Loka. It belongs to the Mel-Lokam (translated: top or inner planet; Loka = planet). This is our Mars when it was still habitable, and one of the administrators of the upper planets was Indra. If there is up (= mel), then there must be also bottom planets. One call these planets Pathala Loka (translated: lower planet or inner planet) – one of these planets is called Venus in our current linguistic usage. This planet was inhabited by the Asuras. The reference point for the top and the bottom is our Earth, so the planet Venus, which is facing the sun from Earth, has been named Pathala-Loka (Inner Planet).
There were three big (or four) ethnic groups: the Humans, the Devas and the Asuras. All three were equal, though the Devas and the Asuras always vied for power. Of course, there were also mixed marriages, e.g. Ravana from the Ramayana (not to be confused with Rama, one of my incarnations; Shiva = Vishnu). Ravana’s father was a Brahmin (Deva) and the mother was from the Asuras ethnic group. Ravan was the king of Sri Lanka in the Treta-Yuga.
The association or interpretation of the Asuras with evil, which is mostly understood in the Indian subcontinent or by the Hindus, is wrong. The evil is and has always been present everywhere, regardless of ethnicity or any other affiliation. The Asuras are also called Arakar (Barbarians).
One should also deal with the weapons mentioned in the Hindu texts. One of them is called Brahmastra, comparable with a powerful nuclear bomb. Once initialised, it must be fired, as it was when Bhishma and Parashurama had to measure their powers in the Dvapara Yuga (Mahabharata, 47 millions years ago). The information that Parashurama was an incarnation of Vishnu (of me) is wrong.
